Artist Biography - Andrew Ryan Robb

Fn’A Studios

Andrew Ryan Robb is an American born artist. He grew up moving every three years of his life throughout the United States and abroad to Tokyo Japan. He experienced different lifestyles and vastly different cultures from his earliest years until he graduated high school.

While he directly experienced a foreign culture and its unique customs during such an impressionable age, this heavily contributed to and enabled Andrew to cultivate a broad sense of self interpretation. Such experiences have greatly enriched and influenced him in many beneficial ways that have promoted and encouraged a greater understanding of cultural art and its relevance to healthy societies and the people that constitute them.

Andrew graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2002. His emphasis was large format oil studio and figure painting and he carried a minor in ceramics.  During his final year at “The School” he was fortunate enough to have been accepted into the highly competitive Advanced Painting Studio Program, where he studied under the likes of Frank Piatek, Judith Geichman, Philip Hanson and Ted Halkin. This is where the early frame and concepts of his current contemporary body of work started to evolve and take shape.

Shortly after graduation Andrew married fellow artist Faith Ann Gilbert and together they share a live/ work studio space first located in Printers Row, South Loop Chicago. In 2015 the two moved their studios to the Pikes Peak area of Colorado. Andrew has shown often in various galleries and art spaces as he continues to create his highly impactful compositions. He is currently represented by Laughlin Gallery, Highland Park IL. NYCH Gallery, Chicago IL. And Art 1 Eleven Gallery, Colorado Springs, CO.
